Angelique’s Gardens are the creation of Gloria Le Bellegard and her husband Yves in tribute to their daughter Angélique, who died before being able to realize this dream within the family estate. The two gardens surrounding the 17th century manorrd century and maintained by the owner of the premises offer a haven of peace and tranquility to only 13 kilometers from Rouen.
Your visit will be divided into two stages, first let yourself be guided by the sound of the small stream present on the estate to stroll through the English garden. Immediately after passing through the wrought iron gate you will plunge into a green setting submerged by the elegance of flowered paths in radiant colors. The sweet scent, fresh and floral, emanating from the multiple climbing arches, will intoxicate you to the bottom of this plot, where you will discover a new water point, reflected in a mirror, enhanced by the warmth of the sun's rays. For a moment, you will be immersed in a magical jewel, inviting poetry and romanticism. This rigorous garden is designed to let nature live in its wild state, thus suggesting freedom and life.
Secondly, after walking alongside the majestic building and its square tower, let yourself be carried away by the tranquility of the white garden, designed more like a so-called French garden. You will then notice the grace of the maze of symmetrical paths, decorated with various bright white flowers, this time inviting calm and serenity. Take a seat on one of the wrought iron chairs present here and there and contemplate the imposing fountain embellished with lions, to escape again, for a moment.
Today, the family story continues at the Jardins d’Angélique: Jeffrey Meray, the owner's grandson, and his friend, Manon Stachowiak, make their contribution by creating a tea room open from May to October. You will be able to taste various pastries homemade: muffins, brownies, apple rose and cookies, and sip hot or cold drinks. At lunchtime, a homemade savory menu is also offered including, among other things, avocado toast, croques monsieur, etc.
We have tested for you the teas with original names offered by the house and coming from Norman roasters : let yourself travel for a moment with the “Weekend in Rome” black tea tinged with Tiramisu, chocolate and caramel notes. The most passionate among you will be seduced by “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” black tea, with its exhilarating aromas of vanilla, cherry and raspberry. The relaxing spirit of the place will allow you to spend a pleasant time outside contemplating the manor and its central esplanade or inside if the weather becomes capricious.
Inside, you will also discover the sales area for various products highlighting local artisans: let yourself be charmed by the cider from the Golden Press, local beers from the Zinc brewery, spirits tasting boxes from the connoisseurs club, vegetable spreads by Mir'Yamm, handmade jewelry from Mamma Honua or the scented candles from Nanou.
