It was during the Covid-19 period that the Rouen collaborative platform Leizup was created. It allows each user to find or suggest outings, meet new friends and benefit from exclusive promotions in partner agencies. Loneliness and social isolation are affecting more and more people during this difficult period, so it is only natural that Yoann Poher created Leizup so that everyone can create or participate in real events and activities or by videoconference. Leizup was launched on March 4, 2021 and is 100% free.
Since its launch, more than 250 users have joined the site and organized more than 40 events. Picnics, hikes, bike rides, running, rollerblading or volleyball for the IRL part and chess games, board games, fitness sessions, yoga and even cooking classes for the video part. Your imagination is the only limit for your next outing!
Given the current situation that students are experiencing and the lack of social connections, Leizup is a real breath of fresh air. Student organizations have signed partnerships with the platform and the SMENO (student mutual) and several Rouen BDEs (STAPS, IAE, CESI) agree that Leizup greatly contributes to getting students out of loneliness and isolation.
Yoann is the Rouen initiator of the project, and Samuel its co-founder from Cherbourg. Naturally, the launch of Leizup took place in Normandy, more precisely Rouen. In the short term, they want to extend the project to all of Normandy and then to other regions in order to help as many people as possible.
