Just 200 meters from our cathedral, turn into rue du Père Adam and board the Ship… A voucher restaurant with a soft and warm atmosphere and a remarkable and authentic menu. Its captain is none other than Pierre, 30 years old, former architect and for whom the original building dating from 1756 was a real crush. It was therefore on the 1st day of the 2019 armada that the restaurant dropped anchor in our beloved Rouen, to the delight of its hungry city dwellers, in search new flavors.
Handmade tableware!
Once on board the ship, you will be able to enjoy a space with warm and soothing colors. Upstairs, a fireplace for those who are more cautious, various tables, for two, four or more. In the center, delicate candles in the hollow of a ceramic container. Ah ceramics, trademark of Ship, dear friends, because here everything is home made. Indeed, in addition to concocting wonderful dishes, each more succulent than the next, we are lucky enough to be able to taste them in a line of hand-cut tableware.
Did you know ? : For 80 plates of their service, they needed 53 kilos of earth and 12 hours of cooking at more than 800 degrees. Craft lovers, you will not be disappointed!
And that's not all. Raise your eyes to the sky and you will come face to face with the soft lights illuminating your table, framed by beautiful palm leaf lampshades. Your trip takes on an exotic feel!
A restaurant of land and sea!
To a restaurant which bears the name of ship, it is not surprising to discover dishes from the sea on the menu. On the menu, you will find a range of fish: salmon, cod, or even the exclusive octopus tentacle cooked like nowhere else. We are only spoiled for choice! But Pierre also works with a Norman supplier who promises him beef with tender and fragrant flesh. As an accompaniment, several seasonings available according to your preferences.
On the drinks side, the holds of the Ship are full too! Good wine for the captains, good beer for sailors and cocktails soft so that the helmsmen sail straight. There is something for every taste !
