Since the start of this new confinement, we have only dreamed of one thing: escaping for a moment to relax and clear our minds. Rouen Bouge offers you a selection of 5 routes for walking within a 10 km radius of the city center. A good way to get some fresh air while respecting the rules of distancing!

  1. Architecture in the Seine
    2 Quai de Boisguilbert

This walk offers the opportunity to discover a dozen architectural achievements and future projects. They were selected for their quality and their strategic role. They were created by architects from the region or from elsewhere, many of whom are famous in France and abroad. They all have in common that they combine the memory of places, uses, activities, and assertive contemporary architecture.

2. The panorama trail

The Côte Sainte-Catherine is undoubtedly the best known and most photographed in the entire city. You can reach other magnificent sites via the panorama trail. In Bonsecours, the cathedral, the Joan of Arc monument, the cemetery and the panorama form a wonderful combination of architecture and landscape. Then go down Amfreville-la-Mivoie, the panorama of Mont-Ager offers you a 360-degree view. Finally, in Belbeuf, you will visit the Saint Adrien panorama, which overlooks the main natural spaces in terms of ecological wealth.

3. The rock years in Rouen

From the 70s to the 90s, stroll through the 7 rock stations of Rouen: legendary bars on Rue de la Soif, record stores and pirate radio, music records, concert halls, DJ barbers, thrift stores, nightclubs and dance halls... Discover places unique to Rouen, close your eyes and immerse yourself in the rock and punk atmosphere of Rouen.

4. Joan of Arc

Joan of Arc is an emblematic figure of Rouen. What could be better than discovering its history while strolling the streets of the city? From the keep to the Old Market via Saint-Ouen and the Cathedral, these high places of Rouen's monumental heritage, true witnesses of History, are now complemented by the Historial Jeanne d'Arc. The Museum of Fine Arts preserves numerous remarkable works dedicated to the heroine as well as the Panorama beautiful, moving and unforgettable discoveries, which help to make the memory of this unique figure in French history a tribute.

5. On the mill road

The Robec and the Aubette are two rivers which flow into the Seine. Since the Middle Ages, they have played an important role in the economic development of the city. Thanks to the hydraulic power provided by the two rivers, dozens of factories can develop along the banks of the river. Additionally, many activities require water to process raw materials produced in surrounding rural areas. Among them, there is no doubt that textiles are the most convincing. Between the town halls of Rouen and Darnétal, walk along the two rivers for a relaxing walk.
