Towards a boycott of the 2022 World Cup?

After the announcement of many large cities such as Lille, Lyon, Paris, Marseille, it is Rouen's turn to call for a boycott of the sporting event.

This Wednesday, October 5, the mayor Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, informed us that the city of Rouen would not set up a fan zone to follow the Football World Cup taking place in Qatar.

Environmental, humanitarian and financial reasons are behind this choice.

What to do as France qualifies once again for the final?

In 2018, the city of Rouen had already made the decision not to create a fan zone. It was by seeing France qualify for the final that a fan zone was created, reflecting the enthusiasm of the people of Rouen regarding this qualification.

This time there is no going back, no fan zone is planned, even if the Blues have had a good run.

Weather reasons may also play a role in this decision since, remember, the World Cup will take place this year from Sunday November 18 to Sunday December 18. The people of Rouen will undoubtedly prefer to follow maths from home.
