Meet Portuguese traditions: welcome to Vila Nela!

We met Kelly and her mother Manuela who opened the first Portuguese delicatessen in the city center of Rouen. We tell you their story.

From Portugal to France: the story of Vila Nela

The mother-daughter duo, very attached to Portuguese origins, found that there was a severe lack of traders representing Portugal. A country rich in flavors and culture, they therefore wanted to introduce the people of Rouen to this richness and what authentic Portugal was by representing their country of origin in a little jewel of the city. Currently at the former location of the Café des Taxis, Kelly and Manuela have opened a delicatessen, combining snacks, pastries, catering, and other surprises that are just waiting for you.

More than a store: a place to live

In Vila Nela, you can drink, eat, take away, all to the tunes of fado. The shop will take you on a journey to Portugal, with its typical decoration and artisanal products (selected among the best directly in Portugal). Among the vinegars, olive oils and other condiments, you will have the choice between the famous Pastéis de Nata, Bolas de Berlim and other pastries, but also savory specialties such as rissoles (shrimp or beef) or dishes of the day homemade. To accompany your snack, Vila Nela offers you a selection of high quality wines and ports. So don’t hesitate any longer and treat yourself to a Portuguese break!
