Uber: how does it work?
The Uber application allows you to connect drivers and passengers in just a few clicks, every day and “24 hours a day”. Denis Saada gives some examples of prices for trips to Rouen: “To go from the train station or the city center of Rouen to the university center of Mont-Saint-Aignan or Kindarena, count 24 to 10 euros, to go up to the airport between 12 and 18 euros. »

A special Armada offer
The arrival of Uber in Rouen obviously raises the question of competition with other means of transport and especially taxis. “We see in each of the cities where we are established that this is good news for all the players who manage mobility in a city,” maintains Denis Saada.
Uber did not choose the date of June 6 by chance.
Travelers will therefore be able to benefit from a unique offer combining an Uber ride and a transport ticket from the Astuce network for €10, from Thursday June 6 to Sunday June 16. “Travelers will have to send the AU code by SMS to 93000. They will then receive in return an SMS including a Tip title valid for one person and an SMS containing a redirection link to the Uber application to book their ride at the preferential rate. »
Six municipalities in the metropolis concerned
This offer will be deployed from three stations in the Astuce network in six municipalities in the Rouen Normandy metropolis: Grand Couronne, Petit Couronne, Le Houlme, Malaunay, Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville, Oissel, Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray.
Departing from the three terminals, travelers who have reserved will be picked up by drivers using the Uber application who will take them to the address of their choice within the limits of the municipalities served:
- From the Technopôle terminus of the metro line in Madrillet, travelers will be taken to any address located in the municipalities of Oissel and Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray;
- from the Georges Braque terminus of the metro line, travelers will be taken to any address located in the municipalities of Grand Couronne and Petit Couronne;
- From the Mairie V. Schoelcher terminus of line T2, travelers will be taken to any address located in the communes of Le Houlme, Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville and Malaunay.
This offer is also valid in the other direction, namely from an address located in one of the municipalities to the corresponding terminus.
The offer will obviously end on June 16. Uber hopes to “do as well in Rouen as in Rennes where, in one year of existence, we have doubled the number of openings of our application. »
