The weekend of Saturday February 11 and Sunday February 12, the Normannia medieval fantasy fair returns to the Rouen Exhibition Center for its fifth edition.

Brave people, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the festive and fantastic world of the Middle Ages. The event organized by the French Medieval Federation (FFM) returns just for you on February 11 and 12.

After two years of absence due in particular to the pandemic, this edition will welcome 250 exhibitors in a magical, magical atmosphere taking you back in time.

On the program: entertainment, concerts, stories and even fights!

An impressive market

Explore the village's bustling medieval market. Admire the creative works of more than 250 artisans and merchants featuring leatherwork, wood carving, pottery, jewelry, costume, blacksmithing, authors and illustrators. You will also be able to find items for role play and historical re-enactment activities.

On the shows and entertainment side

Whether you are young or old, take advantage of the various activities and entertainment planned for the weekend. Put on your most original costume and join the party! According to Jimmy Blin of the FFM, many visitors create their own costumes. On Sunday, a competition is organized on the themes “Shadow and Flame”, “Explorers” and “Orcs and Goblins”, in which you can participate individually or in a group. The costumed characters will walk on stilts, in order to be seen in the middle of the crowd.

You can even test your skills and take part in an ax throwing competition, or take part in the Viking tournament, CLASH fights, beehive demonstrations and fencing matches in the battle arena. This will be the time to compete against each other and discover the most agile member of your group.

To eat, don't worry, we're sticking to the theme of the event, there will be an inn and tavern to satisfy you, medieval dishes (and even some vegetarian ones). Four breweries are participating in the event to drink like a Viking (be careful, alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health). Of course, for the less warlike among you, there will be more classic things.

On site you can also attend concerts, of course staying on theme with Maisnie Hellequin, the bagpipes of Les Ménétriers de Meskan, Eihwaz and his Celtic harp or even Acus Vaccum to make you tremble on Saturday evening!
