Museum Night in Rouen: program revealed

Museum Night 2023, an annual cultural event, will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023. Hundreds of museums and cultural establishments will open their doors on this occasion to offer a variety of exceptional activities which will reveal to visitors a new or different side of the museum today. Rouen is also participating in this event with an attractive program.

The Ceramics Museum offers the “minute factory” workshop for young and old. The workshop is led by a visual artist from the museum who will allow participants to become artists for 20 minutes, on Saturday May 13, at 19:00 p.m. and 21:30 p.m.

The Rouen Museum of Fine Arts invites children to discover a real Viking camp during the Normans exhibition. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a historical reconstruction of the life of the Scandinavians during the period of the Viking raids, particularly around the year 20. This stroll is followed by a fight on the esplanade at 45:13 p.m., Saturday May 14, from 30:XNUMX p.m.

The Flaubert and History of Medicine Museum presents the exhibition “Flaubert body and soul”. This exhibition offers a rediscovery of the work and life of the writer through an essential theme: the body. Visitors will be able to appreciate spectacular pieces such as anatomical waxworks by Jean-Baptiste Laumonier and Auzoux skins. This free exhibition is open on Saturday May 13 from 18:00 p.m.

The Le Secq des Tournelles Museum offers a musical experience by presenting the ancient, medieval, baroque and renaissance music group, La Paduana. The group will perform extracts from Carmina Burana or Roman Fauvel in tunes to drink or eat. In addition, the museum also offers the “minute factory” workshop for families with a museum visual artist, on Saturday May 13, at 19:00 p.m. and 21:30 p.m.

Finally, the National Museum of Education – exhibition center – Maison des Quatres fils Aymon is organizing a sleepover. Visitors will be able to enjoy flash tours of the restored 1900s classroom, film screenings and discussions around the projected themes. For a relaxed atmosphere, visitors are invited to dress in their best pajamas and bring their own pillow.
