The Eagle sailboat will arrive in Rouen on Wednesday June 12 between 20 p.m. and 21 p.m. for the 2019 armada.
The Eagle, or USCGC Eagle (WIX-327), formerly Horst Wessel, is a three-masted barque used as a training school ship for future officers of the United States Coast Guard. As of 2011, it is one of only two active sailing vessels in the United States Navy, along with the USS Constitution. It is also the seventh military or coast guard vessel to bear the Eagle name since 1792.
Each summer, the Eagle cruises with cadets of the United States Coast Guard Academy for periods ranging from one week to two months. These cruises fulfill several roles; the first mission is the training of cadets, the second is a public relations role by participating in major sailing gatherings and Tall Ships' Races around the world.
No lifting of Pont Flaubert. The Eagle is located downstream of the Bridge
