1. The Botanical Garden

Located on the left bank, it offers 8 hectares of greenery. It was built in 1840. A true lung of the south bank of Rouen, it is not only a place of leisure, but also a place to discover numerous plants from the four corners of the world. It is recognized as a botanical garden in France and French-speaking countries, and offers the public the opportunity to observe a collection of different plants: aromatic plants and medicinal plants, a collection of irises, dahlias and Asian flora, plants rockery and other tropical greenhouses. Be careful, however, animals are prohibited, but your children will be able to have fun in the different play areas.

2. Grammont Park

The garden offers a panoramic view of the cathedral, the Sainte-Catherine hills or the Bonsecours cathedral and it completes the Jardin des Plantes. Designed by internationally renowned landscape architect Jacqueline Osty, it is divided into several entertainment and creativity zones thanks to a long walking path. The ideal place to stroll with the family after the holidays.

3. The Rollet peninsula park

Along the Seine, a promenade approximately 2 kilometers long extends from the William the Conqueror Bridge to the tip of the Rollet peninsula. Behind hangars 106, 107 and 108 is the rail garden, a play area for children aged 3 to 10. There you can find two wooden structures for children over 10 years old, a pétanque court and a large meadow to relax. The ancient island that was once used to store coal, with its forest hills, meadows and seaside promenade, has become a natural island again, from where you can discover new views of the city and harbor of Rouen.

4. The Repainville discovery trail

The Repainville discovery trail is an urban natural park which extends over nearly 10 hectares and has just opened. The site's facilities allow the public to move around without compromising its biological and natural diversity, and therefore have educational importance, particularly for young audiences on the protection of the ecosystem. A route was designed to form a loop around the distribution garden. The structure has a pond viewing platform and a self-service kiosk to accommodate the public for bird watching. A raised lookout and bridge to cross the creek and benches were also installed.

5. The city hall gardens

The gardens of Rouen town hall need no introduction as they are an unmissable place in our beautiful city. They were built at the beginning of the 19th century, adjacent to the abbey of Saint-Ouen. They consist of many styles. On the vast rolling lawn, under the sun shaded by chestnut trees and plane trees, many people are resting, chatting or meeting up to have a good time. This garden is a place of leisure, located between the city park and the meadow, and is also a pedestrian crossing, connecting the city center to the Saint-Nicaise and Saint-Vivien districts.

6. The Monumental Forest

Discover the Monumental Forest. The Métropole Rouen Normandie offers a 4 km route dotted with monumental works in the Forêt Verte, a few minutes from the center of Rouen. In order to highlight its 22 hectares of forest and 500 million tourists in all wooded areas each year, the Rouen Normandy Metropolis highlights one of its extraordinary forests through this art biennial. This “Land Art” exhibition labeled “Cop4” is a must for locals and passing tourists.

7. Clères park
