The festival
THEassociation “Regards sur les Cinémas d’Afrique et du Sud” was created in 1993 with the aim of promoting the culture of African, Caribbean and Pacific countries through various activities. Two years later, Camille Jouhair created a festival which takes place every year in January, promoting the broadcast of documentaries, shorts and feature films from the southern hemisphere in cinemas.
As the name of the association suggests, it is about taking another look at these countries through the seventh art and in particular at the African continent which is not without its own cultural and artistic heritage. , and which we must defend.
Program
The programming of this festival is focused on different cinema, from the ends of the world, whose production is rarely, if at all, distributed in France and Europe. Indeed, African, Caribbean and Asian films are presented to spectators. Documentaries, shorts and feature films: all genres are broadcast. This cinema deals with hot topics such as war, poverty and more generally current issues.
Where to find it?
Film screenings take place in many cinemas in the city. In addition to this, the festival gives rise to real meetings, school workshops and debates.
