Created in 1879 by Jules Ferry, the National Museum of Education traces the history of education from the XNUMXth century to the present day.
With a collection of more than 950 objects, the museum has become over the years the MUNAÉ presenting the most important collection of educational heritage in Europe.
Two distinct spaces are offered to you:
  • An exhibition center to discover permanent and temporary exhibitions.
  • A resource center where you can visit the museum's reserves, a photo library and a study room.
At the Exhibition Center, a journey retracing five centuries of history. Teaching practices and methods that have evolved over the years are presented in the very place of learning: a classroom

A very nice discovery, this museum!! A very pleasant welcome by two young women. The children really liked it too! A little surprise after the treasure hunt, and a pen and ink writing activity, really great! I recommend ! THANKS

just for the view of the house at the end of this small street where a small river flows. I've never seen this anywhere else!

Very nice museum in a superb building. A temporary exhibition that changes quite often. A lot of nostalgia is felt through the documents and objects on display and a very beautiful classroom dominates the museum. The only flaw is the indications written in characters that are too small, especially for those who have nostalgia for the old schools.

Very pleasant visit. The staff is welcoming. The museum extends over several floors, there is an elevator for people with reduced mobility or who don't like stairs. The permanent exhibition is very interesting. There is even a classroom recreated from the time of Jules Ferry.
