Every year, the Rouen-Normandy Opera offers a unique immersive experience throughparticipatory opera. This innovative concept, presented by musical director Alphonse Cemin, allows spectators to become actors in the opera.

To do this, spectators are invited to work in advance at home with a learning CD and to participate in rehearsal and warm-up sessions on site. The score has been specially adapted for this occasion. This year, the staging of Rossini's opera Cinderella will take place in a luxury hotel and will be presented in a reduced one-hour version in French.

This year, for its participatory opera, the Rouen-Normandie Opera has chosen to highlight Rossini's Cinderella, a popular fairy tale character which introduces spectators to grand opera while promoting accessibility. The score was adapted for a reduced one-hour version without compromising overall quality, and the six audience participatory moments correspond to the choir scores. Throughout the performance, spectators sing with the artists, creating a real community and enhanced musical emotion.
