Le dungeon of Rouen, the last vestige of the medieval castle, today offers an immersive experience to lovers ofEscape Game. This historic place is a valuable testimony to the military architecture of the Middle Ages and is a perfect example of what is known as “Philipian architecture”. Built in the 13th century by King Philippe Auguste, Rouen Castle once served as a royal residence and seat of administrative functions.
History of the Dungeon
With its imposing circular shape, a height of 35 meters and walls more than 4 meters thick, the keep embodies the power and grandeur of the era. However, this historic place is also associated with a dark episode: during the Hundred Years' War, it was the scene of the trial of Jeanne D'Arc. The young heroine was imprisoned there, threatened and tortured. His detention took place in the tower which is now known as the “Maid Tower”, although today only its foundations remain.

Today, the keep of Rouen offers a Escape Game, inviting you to join the Resistance and prepare you for a historic adventure. In the escape game entitled “Free Rouen!“, you will be plunged into the heart of the action in August 1944, just after the Allied landings. Hope is reborn among the members of the Resistance and a mission of capital importance is entrusted to you: recover strategic documents within the best protected German bunker in the city, located in the Rouen dungeon.
The escape game offers a immersive experience thanks to a meticulously reconstructed decor embellished withperiod objects. You will be transported into theatmosphere of the time, immersed in action and confronted with puzzles to carry out your mission. The ultimate objective is to liberate Rouen from enemy control and contribute to the victory of the Resistance.
Prepare to take up the challenge, to demonstrate logic and cooperation, and to experience an extraordinary adventure in the Rouen dungeon, the last witness to a past rich in events. Join the Resistance!
