First of all, what does it mean to be eco-responsible?

It means “respect nature and the environment as much as possible.” ". Thus, an eco-responsible company tries to improve its energy, water, waste, travel and digital management practices… It integrates environmental impacts into its decisions to reduce its carbon footprint.
It goes beyond legal obligations and implements concrete actions for sustainable development.
Nobody is perfect, but we looked for brands that play the game. Here is our small selection:

Or eat and drink eco-responsibly?

Julien's Pastry, 79 ter rue verte in Rouen, it is above all an eco-responsible bakery that thinks locally. She works with local producers and artisans such as with flour from the Moulin Paul Dupuis de Gournay in Bray. This approach comes from Mr Jullien: “As the son of a farmer, I wanted to pass on this value of responsibility towards the environment to my team and commit to future generations. » The establishment also fights against food waste with Too good to go.
The Arkose Canteen, A committed industrial bistro, located 181 Quai du Cours La Reine in Rouen. “We are pushing the environmental approach to the limit. Whether at the bar or in the kitchen, we ban plastic and single-use containers. No toxic products are used for maintenance. On the plate, 100% fresh, seasonal and homemade cuisine. » Quentin, the chef, enjoys revisiting exotic recipes with ingredients from the Normandy region. La Cantine is committed to only offering products mainly from our regions. Seasonal, farm products, meats from extensive animal-friendly farms. But also fish from non-intensive artisanal fishing practices.

Where to dress eco-responsibly?

“The Boutique Otherwise…” Located at 19 rue de l'Hôpital in Rouen, Hala runs a women's ready-to-wear brand focused on French and European manufacturing. She became involved in this approach in 2017. “When I became a mother, I wanted to find meaning in responsible consumption,” she explains to us. You will find there, among other things, T-shirts from a Nantes brand made with Portuguese cotton.
All Colors, located on Place du 19 April 1944 in Rouen, is the ideal solution for adopting eco-responsible fashion.
