The suspense is coming to an end: FC Rouen finally has the assurance of playing its quarter-final of the Coupe de France at Diochon against Valenciennes, February 28, 2024. A relief for the club and its fervent supporters who feared the worst. The Red Devils will indeed be able to take to their field for this crucial match, after a real soap opera.

Initially relocated to Caen, then finally repatriated to Rouen while awaiting a possible sanction from the federal disciplinary commission, the location of the match was the subject of all attention.

The commission finally gives its agreement after examining the incidents that occurred during the match against AS Monaco in the round of 16. Incidents which included throwing firecrackers, fireworks and a pitch invasion at the end of the match. However, the club remains under surveillance and the conditions for the match at Diochon remain to be defined.

FC Rouen therefore sends a call to order to its supporters, urging them to strictly respect the safety rules in force, particularly with regard to pyrotechnic devices and objects thrown onto the pitch. The club's management emphasizes the importance of good citizenship and everyone's responsibility.

A contrary decision would have been detrimental for the club, because a closed session would have forced the match to be played in Valenciennes, a catastrophic scenario narrowly avoided by FC Rouen.
