In the race to become the European Capital of Culture in 2028, Rouen has taken a crucial step by being selected among the four finalists. Alongside Bourges, Clermont-Ferrand and Montpellier, the Normandy city has demonstrated its commitment and its rich cultural heritage.

Marie Dupuis-Courtes, president of the Rouen Seine Normande 2028 association, expressed her great satisfaction by declaring: “I am a super happy president”. This recognition crowns the considerable efforts made by the bid team.

Work continues for Rouen

Despite this significant progress, the team does not intend to relax its efforts. From Monday, they will get back to work to refine a new application file and prepare for a new oral presentation. The decisive meeting will take place in December, where the final victory will be decided.
